“Follow your passion” sounds good. But for most people, it’s just code for “do what’s comfortable.”
And if you’re already content with where you are? Sure — stick with passion.
But if you’re not? If you're trying to build something bigger, change your life, or create something meaningful — then passion alone won’t cut it. You need to get used to being uncomfortable. And the best way to get there? Follow your curiosity.
Curiosity pulls you into rooms you haven’t been in before. It makes you ask questions, go deeper, tinker with things that don’t yet make sense. And yeah — it can be uncomfortable. But that’s the point.
If you want something you’ve never had, you’ll have to do something you’ve never done.
Curiosity leads you there — passion doesn’t.
More importantly, your curiosity will reveal what you're missing. The skills you need to learn. The blind spots holding you back. The pieces of the puzzle that passion can’t see — because passion is looking in the same direction you've always looked.
So if you're stuck, it might be time to stop asking what you love and start asking what you're wondering about.
That’s where growth lives.
